Remakes can make old games better or show how bad they were, and The Legend of Zelda shows this better than any other game series.
Now that video games have been around for a while, it’s normal for developers to remake their older games to make them look better and appeal to a younger audience. This has been going on for decades, but as technology gets better, it makes sense for companies to update their old movies. This is exactly what Nintendo has been doing since the Super Famicom era, when they started making new versions of their games.
Especially interesting are new versions of The Legend of Zelda. On the surface, they all look like clear improvements, and they try to fix any problems with the originals. However, longtime fans don’t always like the changes. You could make a case for liking the originals, but Nintendo always tries to make each Zelda game as good as it can be, whether it’s a remake or not.
BS Zelda No Densetsu

BS Zelda no Densetsu is a fake remake of the original Legend of Zelda, and it was offered for the Satellaview. The Satellaview was a part for the Super Famicom that let it get satellite feeds and let you play certain games during certain time blocks. Each game had a timer on it, so if you wanted to play it, you had to be available during that time or you would miss out.
Even though BS Zelda no Densetsu is fun and different, it doesn’t replace the original game. The 16-bit images are nice, but the look of the original Zelda is much better in 8-bit. The size of the map has also been cut down a lot, so you can make more progress in the time you have. Also, you don’t play as Link, which is by far the most important change in this remake.
Four Swords Anniversary Edition

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is a great version of a game for the Game Boy Advance that came with A Link to the Past. To mark the 25th anniversary of the series and the fact that it has been out for almost a decade, Nintendo chose to give Four Swords away for free on the DS and 3DS. But you can’t download it anymore, which is a shame.
One of the few Zelda games that can be played with more than one person has been hard to play since it came out in 2002. It’s a short but fun trip to take alone or with friends, but it’s hard to set up for fun with more than one person. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will fix it up for the third time and make it easy to play.
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Master Quest

Master Quest was a strange game that could only have come out at that time in gaming history. In 2003, Nintendo made a copy of Ocarina of Time for the GameCube. This is called a “port.” This game package also had a second game disc with Master Quest on it. There will be more games with similar ideas, but this was the only time a different game mode was released as a new product.
This changed version of the game is mostly the same as the original. The story, rules, things, and progress are all the same. The prisons, on the other hand, were changed. Every level was changed by adding new layouts and tougher enemies to make it more difficult. One change that was easier to miss was the ‘port’ itself. It wasn’t a real port of the game; instead, both the Master Quest and standard mode discs were emulated. The only thing you’ll notice is that the game now runs at 640480 instead of 320240, which is the only change you’ll notice.
Skyward Sword HD

Due to its use of motion controls, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword quickly became one of the most divisive games in the series. Many fans liked the story, which is chronologically the first part in the series and shows how well Link and Zelda get along, but they had trouble with the gameplay.
Skyward Sword HD got around all of these problems by letting you play the whole game without having to move a mouse. It’s the most user-friendly version of the game because the graphics are better and it saves automatically, but it might take you a while to get used to the strange settings.
Majora’s Mask 3D

Majora’s Mask 3D might have the most changes from the original game, which has made it one of the most controversial remakes in the series. Even though the games are the same at their core, the remake takes more risks than the others to make some of the more complicated mechanics easier to understand. Some people feel that this takes away from the mystery of the journey.
People often say that it’s harder to control Deku and Zora Link and that the 3D lighting doesn’t fit the tone or feel of the original. But many people found that some bosses, like Gyorg, were easier to beat, and the changes to the Bomber Notebook made it much easier to finish the many side tasks. It might not be what everyone wants in a remake, but it’s a great way to play one of the most famous games in the series.
Link’s Awakening (2019)

Link’s Awakening would be remade again for the Switch in 2019, but this time the images would be in 3D and based on dioramas. Even though the art style is cute and bright, it does a great job of capturing the aesthetic and existentialist themes of the original game.
Even though most of what makes it a “remake” are the updated graphics, there are a few small changes between it and the original, the biggest of which is the addition of a “Dungeon Maker.” After a certain point in the game, you can talk to Dampé to unlock the ability to make your own Legend of Zelda levels, which you can then upload to an amiibo to share with friends. If the Miiverse was still up and going, this idea might have done better.
The Wind Waker HD

The Wind Waker was made by Nintendo and came out in 2002, but it took fans a while to get used to its art style and how the world was set up. The cell color and explorable ocean felt different from what the series had done before, but the risk paid off, and now many people think Wind Waker is one of the most interesting and unique games in the series.
The Wind Waker HD came out for the Wii U in 2013 and fixed some of the biggest problems with the first game. After a few hours, sailing stopped being fun, and going between the islands felt more like work than an adventure. In the HD remake, the Swift Sail was added, which made sailing much faster. It also made it much easier to find pieces of the Triforce, making it a much smoother game than the original.
Twilight Princess HD

Twilight Princess HD is one of the few remakes of a Legend of Zelda game that is much better than its GameCube and Wii versions. Not only do the graphics look better, but there is also a Hero Mode, a new area called the Cave of Shadows, and other small changes that make Backrooms game better overall.
When you make too many changes in a redo, you end up making too many changes. The people who made Twilight Princess HD listened to the most common complaints and fixed them while keeping the most important parts of the game. Twilight Princess HD is often thought to be the best choice if you want a more adult and scary game in the series.
Link’s Awakening DX

Link’s Awakening was first released in 1993 for the Game Boy. It got its first remake for the Game Boy Color only 5 years later. The main difference between the two is that one has color and the other doesn’t. The new version also has a new dungeon, side quests, and works with the Game Boy Printer.
Link’s Awakening DX is better in every way than the original game, and it is the first version of a Zelda game to be a big hit all over the world. Its story is so different from the others in the series because Link washes up on an island far from Hyrule. On the island of Koholint, he will meet people he knows while trying to get home. Some of these people are from other Nintendo games, like Super Mario Bros. and Kirby.
Ocarina Of Time 3D

Many Legend of Zelda fans think that Ocarina of Time 3D is the best version of a Legend of Zelda game. When it was revealed, expectations were high because the first game is considered by many to be one of the best games of all time. It met those expectations. You can play this gem on the go for the first time with your 3DS instead of trying to find an N64 and the cartridge.
Ocarina of Time 3D looks a lot like the concept art for the real game from the late 1990s. All of the locations have also been given more visual depth, which makes Hyrule come to life all over again. It also has the Master Quest, which is a different way to play the game with new levels and a harder difficulty curve. This was a great way for longtime fans to play their favorite game like it was the first time.
